Cherokee High School NJROTC Students Receive U.S. Military Service Academy Nominations

The Senior Naval Science Instructor (SNSI) of the Naval Junior ROTC Program at Cherokee High School has nominated two Cherokee seniors to the U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Military Academy (West Point).
Senior Tyler Reed has received nominations from both Congressman Runyan and the SNSI to the U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Military Academy (West Point).
Senior Jerry Liu has received nominations from both Congressman Runyan and the SNSI to the U.S. Military Academy (West Point).
In addition, 2012 Cherokee graduate Michael Strzelczyk has received a Congressional nomination to the U.S. Air Force Academy. Michael is currently a freshman at Rutgers University and a member of the Air Force ROTC program.

Candidates are selected based on a review of the students’ academic records, community involvement and physical aptitude.
“As the Senior Naval Science Instructor, I have the honor of nominating a maximum of three JROTC cadets each year” said Major Rory Meehan USMC (Ret).
