So far the Sequoia students have taken 6 trips out to volunteer for Beyond Balance - volunteer based therapeutic riding center specializing in equestrian activities adapted for people with special needs. They have 4 more to go for this semester of volunteering.
Its location has changed from previous years so the new farm has a lot of work that needs to be done. Students are currently assisting in building new fencing for the pasture and lesson ring. Most recently, they have learned how to lead and lunge a horse. Below are some updated photos.
Students can earn up to 20 hours of community service and 2.5 credits towards high school graduation if they attend 10 trips.
