JROTC Wins First Place at Drill Meet

JROTC cadets with trophies Photos provided LTC Ron Tucsak    Congratulations to Lenape’s Army JROTC Indian Battalion for capturing the South Jersey League Drill Competition Championship for the second consecutive year.  Color Guard Commander Kaila Trouts and Drill Team Commander Andrew DeCord raised the bar with their exceptional leadership.

The competition, held at Lenape High School on Feb. 2nd, included cadets from 13 schools in South Jersey and the greater Philadelphia area.  Lenape’s tireless preparation and outstanding efforts led to their winning the 2018-19 First Place Overall trophy.

Varsity Color Guard, commanded by Kaila Trouts and first-year Color Guard, commanded by Wyatt Fiscor, led to a double Color Guard 1st place.

Another incredible and professional performance resulted in two 1st place trophies for Cadet Platoon Inspection with Rifles led by Commander Sam Coon and Cadet Platoon Inspection without Rifles led by Commander Sasha Tuczak. 

Trophies multiplied as Isabella Bordon commanded 1st year cadets to another 1st place finish. Our First Place Exhibition Team without Rifles, commanded by Ja’Kiya Barrett, performed an exceptional routine while Andrew De Cord led an impressive Exhibition display with rifles that wowed the spectators as they also earned 1st place. 

Two more events led to first place with Greyson Stewart leading his squad with rifles to 1st  place and Anthony Fazio guided his platoon with rifles to victory as well.  Andrew DeCord and Robert Hamilton led their units to 2d place in platoon and squad without rifles, respectively. Robert Hamilton commanded Squad without Rifles to 2d place.

Bryanna Maurer and Abigail Fuss performed an exceptional rendition of the National Anthem for the closing ceremony. 

LTC (R) Ron Tuczak and SFC (R) John Mondelli lead Lenape’s Indian Battalion. The cadets will compete at the Brigade Competition on March 2nd, which will be held at Francis Lewis High School in Queens, in New York.
