Student Volunteer Winners Honored

Director of Programs and Planning Brad Bauer introduced this year's Student Volunteer Award Winners.  Congratulations to Ashley Karbiwnyk from Cherokee High School,  Alana Lafrance from Lenape High School, Ryan Turchi from Seneca High School and Anya Wilt from Shawnee High School. The students' volunteerism was showcased in a video presented to the LRHSD Board of Education.

LRHSD Recognizes Parent Volunteers

LRHSD Director of Programs and Planning Brad Bauer also welcomed and honored the 2026 Parent Volunteer Award Winners.  Each high school principal from the district introduced and shared stories of the winners.  The Board of Education presented awards of recognition to Kate Watkins from Lenape, Jessica McGraw from Shawnee, Neil Aaronson from Cherokee, and Jennifer Megaw from Seneca.

BOE Student Representative Monthly Report

  • Lenape
    • Lenape hosted 75 school aged children of Lenape staff members on Bring your Child to Work Day, along the Dunkin Donuts truck for staff. 

    • Multiple Lenape clubs and the Lenape PTO sponsored a variety of events to celebrate our staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. 

  • Cherokee:
    • Over 50 teams of Cherokee students competed in the annual Student Council Volleyball Tournament. 

    • Cherokee students and staff came together to create an activity pack for Bring Your Child to Work Day. From welding to escape rooms, the children of Cherokee staff experienced an extremely fun day to remember. 

  • Shawnee
    • The Interact Club  had an impactful experience, teaching kindergarten students the importance of water safety with the help of the book “Josh the Baby Otter.” 

    • Shawnee had their annual “Mr. Shawnee” performance.  Thanks to the incredible seniors, the show was an absolute crowd pleaser! 

  • Seneca:
    • Seneca’s Relay for Life is in full swing.  Currently, there are over 275 participants which have donated more than 20 thousand dollars. Seneca is looking to grow to 500 participants with a possible donation of 50 thousand dollars. 

    • The Bag Bingo night on April 23rd  was a success! Several Seneca student council members volunteered their time to help out for the night too. Lots of prizes were given out to the great participants thanks to donations from their student council members.  

The Special Education classes throughout the district had their Golden Gala at The Mansion in Voorhees! All the students looked fabulous and many fun memories were made. It was such a special night! The students themselves reported that their food was “top notch.” The cupid shuffle was a hit as well!
