BOE Student Representative Monthly Report

BOE Student Representative

Lenape High School

On May 24th, Lenape held their Senior Prom at the Bellevue Hotel venue and it was gorgeous. Students danced, ate food and voted for Prom King and Queen. Senior Pinning took place on May 30th and the auditorium was filled with students and their families. It was a sentimental moment for everyone and afterward everyone celebrated this milestone with Mister Softee. Senior Day of Service was held on May 31st and Lenape students volunteered throughout the community. Finally, officers campaigned to hold an office position for this upcoming school year.

Shawnee High School

Shawnee seniors went to different spots around town to participate in Senior Day of Service. Shawnee choirs and bands hosted their spring show to wrap up the end of the year. Students in the engineering program went to Medford Lakes Elementary School to do a design challenge with them. The senior class hosted their prom at the Carriage House and it was so much fun! In preparation for graduation, the senior class hosted Senior Sunset to sign yearbooks and spend one last night together as Shawnee's Class of 2024!

Cherokee High School

As the Class of 2024’s time comes to a close at Cherokee, all the end of the year activities were in full swing. Seniors celebrated their decision day by winning raffle prizes and signing yearbooks during Senior Night. The night before many seniors were recognized for their academic excellence at the Academic Awards Ceremony. Girls track crushed their own school record in the Group 4 state meet, qualifying for New Balance Nationals. One specific runner qualified for the Meet of Champions in her event. The senior class at Cherokee is thankful for all the Cherokee has given them throughout the past four years.

Seneca High School

Our Seneca baseball team is now back to back South Jersey Group 2 Champions. This was a sentimental moment for the entire baseball team as most of them have played together since Kindergarten. To kick the playoff season off, the entire baseball team and coaches bleached their hair blonde! Renaissance club hosted the annual People's Choice Awards, where a teacher nominates a student and honors them as someone who has made an impact on their life. It was an amazing and rewarding night for students, staff and families. Academic Awards were held for seniors and students were recognized for different scholarships they have earned from the school and their future university/trade. Finally, as our year wound down senior activities were in full swing, which included Senior Sunset, Senior Day of Service, Senior Student Government trip to Six Flags, and the grand finale, graduation, which was so bittersweet. I know that I will really miss Seneca.

And finally, I want to thank Dr. Birnbohm and our Board of Education members for this amazing opportunity and for welcoming me with open arms. You all hold a special place in my heart as I've learned so much from you in just a few months.  In the future, I hope to be as dedicated, driven and passionate as each and every one of you. You are the backbone of our district and I truly cannot thank you enough for all that you do. Thank you for everything you taught me, and for the opportunity to serve as the student representative for our district.
