School Board Recognition Month

In honor of School Board Recognition Month this January, we celebrate the dedicated members of the Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education for their invaluable volunteer service. We thank these advocates for their commitment to setting high educational standards and ensuring our students have the resources they need to succeed.
New BOE Vice President Appointed

Business Administrator and Board Secretary Kara L. Huber had the privilege of swearing in board member JoAnne E. Harmon of Evesham Township for a new three-year term. Mrs. Harmon was also appointed Vice President of the Board of Education.
Lenape High School's Leadership Academy

Lenape High School Principal Tony Cattani and Head Athletic Trainer Kyle Nicastro introduced the Lenape Leadership Academy, a student-centered initiative dedicated to cultivating principled, high-impact leaders. During the presentation, student members shared how the program’s training and hands-on initiatives have equipped them with the confidence to lead effectively across classrooms and extracurriculars. The academy empowers students to drive meaningful, sustainable change within the Lenape community while preparing them for success in their future professional careers.

Lenape High School
On Friday, January 16th, before Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the school performed a march at the end of the school day to honor Martin Luther King Jr's legacy while his famous speech played on loudspeakers, and a video montage played on all screens. This was the 23rd annual march, first started by a student, and is made up of various clubs and individuals from the district. The superintendent and school representatives from the Lenape District were all present and participated in the event.
Students and staff helped wrap over 100 gifts for faculty and staff at Lenape. This event raised money through donations which will be used to benefit Lenape students.
The week and a half leading up to the pep rally and start of winter break, the Student Council organized a spirit week to win points for each grade. Themes consisted of "Long Winters Nap," "Grinch Day," and "Ugly Sweater Day."
Cherokee High School
Cherokee’s Theater presented Disney’s The Little Mermaid. The cast, crew, and directors did a fabulous job presenting an “ab-SHELL-lutely” incredible show for each audience.
Cherokee High School was proudly represented by students at the Special Olympics New Jersey Youth Summit for Unified Sports. Throughout the day they built leadership, outreach, and teamwork skills.
Cherokee’s Peer Leaders volunteered at the Holiday Shopping Event through the NJ Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired. They assisted students in their holiday shopping and spread Christmas cheer.
Shawnee High School
The Winter Choral concert was held on the 16th of December showcasing the amazing talent of the Shawnee singers. It was a great turn out and brought lots of holiday spirit to the audience.
Shawnee Leadership Academy held their 4th and final presentation with the freshmen. Different in-school scenarios were discussed leading to great solutions being brainstormed on how to keep Shawnee a welcoming and great community. Upperclassmen also shared advice with the freshmen.
The Military Community Club had a special guest speaker, Mrs. Constance Cotton, who gave a presentation on the benefits of being a military child and resources which are available to military families.
Shawnee is hosting Seneca for a Unified Basketball game this Friday the 23rd.
Seneca High School
In December, NHS held their induction ceremony with 60 new members that have been volunteering at various locations such as: Redmond’s Garden Center, the elementary schools and Holiday events in our surrounding community.
Seneca JROTC cadets traveled to the USO at the Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, MD to volunteer at their annual holiday party. The cadets helped serve and clean up, give out toys to children and families, and provide a festive atmosphere for the party.
On January 7th, 9 student council members attended the winter conference for the NJASC which was held at The College of New Jersey. During the day the students and their advisor, Mrs. Strittmatter, attended a keynote speaker whose message was rooted in how to be leaders and reach your full potential. Each student attended two workshops where other student council members from other schools presented projects. Seneca students wrote down ideas to bring back to school and presented these ideas during their Wednesday morning meeting.
