Seneca Serves

Seneca Serves

Seneca High School student body President Shane McClelland and Vice President Isabella Ounjian presented an overview of the 2025-2026 Seneca Serves campaign to the Board of Education.  This campaign is a yearlong effort, led by the Student Council to highlight the idea that through acts of service, students can contribute to the community and beyond in ways that will have a lasting and rewarding effect.  Seneca Student Council is leading the way with three major events:  two Red Cross Blood Drives, two hair donation events, and finally a school-wide American Cancer Society "Relay for Life" to be held in June at the Golden Eagle Stadium.  The campaign has challenged all teams, clubs, and teachers to raise the bar and add events throughout the year.  The results have been fantastic so far and Seneca is celebrating all acts of service.

Lenape High School

On Friday, January 23rd, Lenape hosted a Wellness Day on the half day that completed the first semester. It allowed students and clubs to request and run tables related to mental health that would be visited by classes throughout the day.  Other mental health resources and activities were available in other parts of the building as well.
Students were able to buy candy grams in the spirit of Valentine’s Day in the days leading up to the holiday to be sent to another student. During the last few days before Valentine’s, the Lenape musical honor society went around to each recipient and sang a love song to them, promoting love and community in the Lenape student body.
Brandon Jones, a freshman, created an app “Cronus” to help kids find their bus locations at the end of the day, improving efficiency and communication in the building while also relieving the rush at the end of the school day.

Cherokee High School

Mr. Cherokee: Cherokee seniors presented a fantastic show. There were laughs, cries, and pure entertainment all night! Congratulations to Jaylen Duncan who was the 2026 Mr. Cherokee.
Cherokee was proud to welcome 146 students inducted into the National Honor Society. These students are commended for their balance of academics, extracurriculars, as well as community involvement.
Student Council E-Board member junior Bruce Novoa was elected on the NJASC state board as the Executive Member of Special Projects. Additional student council members created and presented an exceptional workshop on Cherokee’s Senior Citizens Valentines Dance.

Shawnee High School

On January 31st, 15 Model UN students attended the MooMUN (Moorestown Model United Nations) Conference at Moorestown High School.  At this event, some of the participants dressed up as Disney princesses as a fun specialized committee theme. They solved world issues trying to save their princes. At the conference, the best position won and there were many honorable mentions.
Shawnee hosted a Unified Basketball game against Seneca on January 23rd. This was the last day before the end of the 1st semester.  This event brought great unity to our district as everyone cheered on both teams. It was an inspiring game to watch with a fabulous half-time show by Shawnee’s Dance team.
The Shawnee girls swim team won the South Jersey Group B Sectional title on February 12th at GCIT. This is the third time in school history the team has made it this far.  This was a full circle moment for the seniors, as the first title was won their freshman year. The girls will compete at the state semifinals on February 19th.

Seneca High School

On Friday February 6th Seneca hosted their 3rd annual Unified Basketball Game vs. Shawnee.   It was a great event with the entire student body cheering for both teams.   There was a DJ and dance party at half time.  It was a great event involving the entire school and Seneca was glad to host Shawnee where everyone had a good time.
On Thursday February 12th Seneca hosted a “Women in Engineering Day.”   Students from all four schools attended, along with a teacher, to engage in activities with women who are in the field of engineering in our local community.  The students spent the day listening and interacting in activities dealing directly with the field in which they want to enter.  The event was a great success and we look forward to continuing the connections we have made to host another event next year.
