Culinary Club 2022-2023
************
The Culinary Club will not begin in the Fall of 2022
as we practice an abundance of caution on the heels of Covid Restrictions of the past two years.
As we watch the trends in the fall with Covid related illness
the Culinary Club may be reinstated in
the 2nd MP or even the 2nd Semester in 2023.
Thank you for your understanding!
When the Culinary Club meets, we meet on Wednesday in B-101 every other week.
The SHS Activity Fee does not apply to this club.
The semesterized dues are $10.00 to cover ingredient expenses.
Dues and parental consent form are due before you attend your first meeting.
The club is "student driven", meaning students direct what recipes they would like to learn to prepare. Club communication is facilitated by the Group Me app and students should be sure to download the app when they join the club to be current with what's happening. Suggestions for recipes are shared on the Group Me and when one is chosen, instructions for preparation, ingredients, and equipment are provided by Ms. Molz.
Club meetings and the recipe will be advertised on the Renegade Morning Show, PA announcements, scrolling TV announcements, and outside of B-101. When you plan to attend you should sign up on the clipboards outside of B-101 to reserve your place in a kitchen.
Since interest in the club has grown by leaps and bounds, we may find that there are too many students to be safely accomodated in B-101 at one time. In that case we will separate into a two day format whereby we will still meet every other Wednesday but will open the Tuesday of that week so everyone can participate.
It is requested that we fill Wednesday places before we open Tuesday for signing up.
National Honor Society (NHS) Credit
NHS credit may be acquired by attending 50% of the 18 - 20 meetings for a full year. A sign in sheet is used to record attendance at each meeting. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE YOU SIGN IN EACH TIME YOU ATTEND A MEETING FOR THE FULL EXPERIENCE.
Many students play seasonal sports so the semesterized approach allows for freedom to choose a semester that works for you.
Culinary Club registration will be announced when a decision is made regarding the Covid situation in the building. If you have any questions please reach out to Ms. Molz at mmolz@lrhsd.org.
