- Long Term Learning Goals
-
The Lenape Regional High School District World Languages program, in alignment with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content World Languages Standard and the World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages by ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages), prepares students to become competent users of another language, able to apply their language skills and cultural knowledge to participate in multilingual communities and to become successful and responsible citizens in a diverse, ever-changing world. Through completing our coursework with its emphasis on real-life, practical experiences, our students will be better able to
- communicate effectively in more than one language in a variety of situations and for multiple purposes
- demonstrate cultural awareness based on understanding of and respect for other cultures, past and present
- make connections with other disciplines by applying learning from language class to relevant situations in other classes
- use the language to investigate, explain, and reflect on the concept of culture through comparisons of the cultures studied and their own
