Congressional Researcher:

Search by using “Quick Search” - typing in your topic in the search box OR Search by using the “Browse by Topic” feature

Search Tips:

  • Notice how you can navigate through the information by selecting a specific category at the top of the page.
  • Categories include:  Full Report, Abstract, Overview, Background, Current Situation, Outlook, Special Focus, Chronology, Pro/Con, Next Step, etc.

EBSCOhost:

Select “EBSCOhost Web” → Select the MAS Ultra - School Edition database OR select the database the meets your topic → Select “Continue” → Type search term in the box

Search Tips: 

  • Notice the “Explore: Subdivisions” and “See also related terms” section at the bottom of the box
  • Once you select an article, there will be narrowed search terms on the left hand side of the screen.

 

Facts.com:

Facts.com → Select “Search All” databases → Type your topic in the search box

  • Notice how the articles are organized.

Facts on File:

Facts on File → Select the database the meets your topic → Search by typing in the search box

Search Tips:

  • Categories include:  Overview, Articles, Definitions, Organizations, Table/Charts, etc.

 

SIRS:
