Start with a country profile for Cuba, Mexico and/or Venezuela

  • In search box, search for NAME OF COUNTRY to access the portal page for the country
  • On the right, click on the "VIEW COUNTRY PROFILE" link (bottom of "Quick Facts" box) for a very detailed account of your country (including info. on TRANSPORTATION, MEDIA, INDUSTRY, TRADE, etc.)

Search tips for databases and resources listed below:

  • Click on "EBSCO Host Complete DB List"
  • Select all databases
  • Search for articles on your selected topic from either peer reviewed sources or magazines/newspapers.
  • Use the limiters for publication, date, peer reviewed, full text, etc.
Evaluate Websites

�       Authority

o   WHO wrote the information?

o   What is the site�s domain?  Is it a commercial (.com) site or a more trustworthy government (.gov) or educational institution (.edu) site?

o   Is the author qualified to write about the subject?

o   Can you contact the author of the site?

�       Accuracy

                   o   WHAT is the site saying?

o   Is the information reliable and can it be verified?

o   Does the page cite its sources?

�       Objectivity

                     o  WHY was the page/site created?

 o   Is the information free from bias?

 o   Is the information based on facts or opinion?

�       Currency

o   WHEN was the page created or last updated? 

o   Is the information dated?

o   Are there “dead links” on the page?

·       Coverage

o  HOW MUCH in-depth & relevant material is provided?

o   Does the information found relate to your focus?
