Title I
Only eligible schools may utilize funds for targeted assistance. Eligible schools are based on several criteria set by the New Jersey Department of Education. The District uses the criteria of “at or above district poverty level” to determine eligible schools. Eligible children from those schools are students who are economically disadvantaged, children with disabilities, migrant children or limited English proficient children.
Also, students at risk of not passing state standardized assessments are eligible to participate in the targeted assistance programs. These programs are in addition to the regular school day. After school and summer End of Course enrichment programs are the main targeted assistance programs. These programs are designed to meet the needs of the individual student and assist them in passing state standardized assessments.
