Testing

National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is the largest nationally representative assessment of what students across the country know and can do in core subjects.  It is administered by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), within the U.S. Department of Education. 

Cherokee High School has been selected by the New Jersey State Department of Education (NJDOE) to participate in the NAEP testing. 

Listed below are the New Jersey Learning Assessments (NJSLA) testing dates for the LRHSD to be administered in May. 

Listed below are the New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment (NJGPA) testing dates for LRHSD to be administered in October and March.

ACCUPLACER is a series of tests that evaluate students' skills in reading, writing, and math to help college administrators place them in courses that match their skills. 

The ACT is a college entrance exam that is mainly for grades 11 and 12.  The curriculum covered is comprehensive English Language Arts and Math. 

The Advanced Placement (AP) exams are college entrance exams for grades 10, 11 and 12 and are not a graduation requirement.  The curriculum covered varies by AP course.

Art and Design: Friday, May 9, 2025 (8 p.m. ET), is the deadline for AP Art and Design students to submit their three portfolio components as final in the AP Digital Portfolio.  

The PSAT-NMSQT is college entrance exam preparation for grades 9 through 11.

The SAT is a college entrance exam that is mainly for grades 11 and 12.  The curriculum covered is comprehensive English Language Arts and Math.
