Mr. Donald Stecher began his career with the LRHSD in 1966 as a Social Studies teacher. Becoming a supervisor and later an assistant principal, he eventually served proudly as the Prinicipal of Cherokee from 1987-2001. Under his leadership, “buckaroos faced many conundrums” as he forged Cherokee staff, students, and the Evesham community into “The Cherokee Family.” His visionary thinking created five new initiatives, the impacts of which are still revered at CHS: Italian, strings in our music program, RBT, AP courses, and Renaissance. He will long be remembered as “The Face of Cherokee.”
