2018-2019 Lenape District Teacher of the Year

Board of Education Honoring Lenape District Teacher of the Year
  • Seneca High School Principal Jeff Spector and Seneca Assistant Principal and Science Department Supervisor Dave Maier introduced Seneca Science Teacher Dusty Carroll to the Board of Education where she was then formally honored as the Lenape District Teacher of the Year for the 2018-2019 school year.

Cherokee High School Security Recognition

Cherokee High School Security Recognition
  • Cherokee High School School Resource Officers Jammie Clements and Bob Hansbury, as well as Security Assistants Bruce LaCarte and Ben Kozarski, were honored by the Board of Education and District Administration for their efforts on swiftly identifying an individual who had no connection to Cherokee and preventing that individual from entering the school. The school security personnel worked together, by using the security technology in place and following the established protocols, to thwart a perceived threat to the Cherokee High School community.

    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $60 for Seneca's Art Department from Mr. & Mrs. William Paquette.
    • The Board of Education approved the donation of a portable cooling system (valued at $1839.99) for Shawnee's Football Team from The Pfeifer Family.
    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $300 for Cherokee's Special Education Program from Foundation for Education.
    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $10,000 for Seneca's Special Education Program from the Maggipinto Family.
    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $200 for Shawnee's Athletic Hall of Fame Program from Skip Rudderow.
    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $250 for Shawnee's Athletic Hall of Fame Program from the family of Richard "Dick" Brown.
    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $250 for Shawnee's Athletic Hall of Fame Program from the family of Holly McGarvie Reilly.
    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $200 for Shawnee's Athletic Hall of Fame Program from Medford Girls Lacrosse.
    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $75 for Shawnee's Athletic Hall of Fame Program from Fast Break Booster Club.

    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $125 for Shawnee's Athletic Hall of Fame Program from Shawnee's Softball Program.

    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $200 for Shawnee's Athletic Hall of Fame Program from Shawnee's End Zone Club.
    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $125 for Shawnee's Athletic Hall of Fame Program from Princeton University Lacrosse.
    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $125 for Shawnee's Athletic Hall of Fame Program from Shawnee's Lacrosse Club.
    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $200 for Shawnee's Athletic Hall of Fame Program from Medford Youth Athletic Association (MYAA).
    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $150 for Shawnee's Athletic Hall of Fame Program from the Family of Gregg Rakoczy.

    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $50 for Shawnee's Athletic Hall of Fame Program from Francine Siedlecki.

  • Numerous other requests for approval of student activities and education items were approved by the Board of Education. These approvals are reflected in the formal minutes of the meeting which are available in the office of the Board of Education Secretary.
     
    The next Board of Education meeting is Wednesday, October 17th at 7:30 p.m. at the Lenape District Administration Building in Shamong.
