  • Shawnee Debate Team Champions

     Shawnee High School Debate Team being recognized by Board of Education
     
    Shawnee High School's Debate Team, along with Coach Mr. Raymond Castor, was recognized by the Board of Education for winning the South Jersey Debate League Championship. It was Shawnee's third South Jersey Debate League title since 1989 and its first since the 2005-06 season. The team defeated a strong Cherry Hill East team to earn the league title.

    Shawnee High School Principal Matthew Campbell introduced seniors Olivia Goldberg & Claire Flannery who gave a presentation to the Board of Education about academics, athletics, community service and the various school activities at Shawnee during the 2017-2018 school year.

    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $100 for Cherokee's Food Pantry from Mr. & Mrs. Drzymala.
     
     
    * The Board of Education approved the donation of a pitching machine valued at $6000 for Cherokee's Athletic Department from Cherokee Baseball Booster Club.
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $4065 for Shawnee's Football Team from Shawnee Football Booster Club.
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $100 for Cherokee's Orchestra from Stephen's Exterminating.
     
  • Miscellaneous
     
    Numerous other requests for approval of student activities and education items were approved by the Board of Education. These approvals are reflected in the formal minutes of the meeting which are available in the office of the Board of Education secretary.
     
    The next Board of Education meeting is Wednesday, April 25th at 7:30 p.m. at the Lenape District Administration Building in Shamong.
