    Marching Band Champions

     Cherokee High School Marching Band being recognized by the LRHSD Board of Education
     
    Cherokee High School's Marching Band, under the direction of Mr. Michael Lynch, was recognized by the Board of Education for winning the 2017 USBANDS Group IV-A Open New Jersey State Championship. The eighty-one student performers put on a powerful show, also winning the caption awards for Best Percussion and Best Visual. This is the band's second consecutive Group IV-A state title.
  • District Security and Emergency Management Presentation 
    Lenape Regional High School District Security and Emergency Management Coordinator James Kehoe gave a public presentation of the semi-annual Vandalism & Violence Report for the 2017-2018 school year. By identifying potentially disruptive behavior trends in the early stages, the Lenape District will be better prepared to implement early intervention and preventative measures.

    Cherokee High School North Principal Donna Charlesworth introduced seniors Dante Casella & Lindsay Mullen who gave a presentation to the Board of Education about academics, athletics, community service and the various school activities at Cherokee during the 2017-2018 school year.

    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $200 for Cherokee DECA from Bradley Funeral Home.
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $500 for the Cherokee Orchestra Program from Bradley Funeral Home.
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $1,000 for the Cherokee Orchestra Program from Kennedy Medical Group Practice. 
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $250 for the Cherokee Orchestra Program from Daniel L. Wolf & Associates. 
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $520 for the Cherokee History & Music departments from Foundation for Education. 
     
  • Miscellaneous
     
    Numerous other requests for approval of student activities and education items were approved by the Board of Education. These approvals are reflected in the formal minutes of the meeting which are available in the office of the Board of Education secretary.
     
    The next Board of Education meeting is Wednesday, March 28th at 7:30 p.m. at the Lenape District Administration Building in Shamong.
