  • Marching Band Group 2 Open State Champions
     
      Lenape Marching Band
     
    Lenape High School's Marching Band, under the direction of Mr. Steve Waldron, was recognized by the Board of Education for winning the 2017 USBANDS Group 2 Open State Championship. In addition to winning the overall championship, the band also took home the Best Overall Effect, Best Visuals and Best Color Guard Awards. This is the band's fourth consecutive title and their 8th win in the last 9 years.

    Lenape High School Principal Tony Cattani was on hand to introduce seniors Imaninia Burton and Joseph Cornaglia who gave a presentation to the Board of Education about various school activities for the 2017-2018 school year.

     
  •  South Jersey Group 5 Football Champions

    Lenape Indians Football Head Coach Tim McAneney and his team were recognized by the Board of Education for winning the South Jersey Group 5 Championship on Saturday, December 2nd. The team beat Rancocas Valley High School by a score of 10-7 to win the championship. This was Lenape's 1st sectional title in school history.

    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $250 for Cherokee's Chorus Program from Johnson's Farm.
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $1000 for Cherokee's Renaissance Program from Evesham Celebrations Foundation.
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $2765 for Cherokee's Digital Pilot SAT Exam from Educational Testing Services.
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $70 for Cherokee's Curriculum Expo from Foundation for Education.
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $325 for Cherokee's Scout Student Newspaper from Foundation for Education.
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $2052 for Shawnee's Hitting Unit for Varsity Softball Field from Shawnee's Girls Softball Team.

    Numerous other requests for approval of student activities and education items were approved by the Board of Education. These approvals are reflected in the formal minutes of the meeting which are available in the office of the Board of Education secretary.
     
    The next Board of Education meeting is Wednesday, February 21st at 7:30 p.m. at the Lenape District Administration Building in Shamong.
