School districts may, by resolution of the Board of Education, authorize the sale of surplus and /or obsolete equipment. Disposition or sale must be accomplished through public sale and is facilitated by the Business Office on an annual basis or as needed.

    1. Supervisors wishing to dispose of surplus or obsolete equipment should contact the Business Administrator for instruction.
    2. Supervisors are encouraged to notify other in district supervisors of equipment they no longer need to ascertain whether it can be used elsewhere in the district.
    3. Internal sale of equipment to employees and their families is not permitted; however, any person is free to purchase equipment at public sale.
    The Business Office must be notified of any damaged or broken equipment which is to be discarded prior to its disposition by completing the Fixed Asset Disposal Form.
