• Welcome to Foods I!

    This course includes two main focuses: the foods aspect and the nutrition aspect of the culinary field.  We will have many discussions and work related to the nutrient content in various foods, how to adapt a diet to meet various nutritional needs, and how to maintain the greatest benefit of the foods we will discuss and sample.  We will also be completing many labs involving an array of preparatory and cooking techniques as well as foods from all of the food groups. 
    Grades will consist of classwork, tests and quizzes, labs, and little homework.  All grades will be posted within a reasonable amount of time and students are expected to check the grade book regularly.   
    We are looking forward to a great second half of the school year!
