  • Marching Band Group 4A State Champions
     
    Cherokee Marching Band  
     
    Cherokee High School's Marching Band, under the direction of Mr. Michael Lynch, was recognized by the Board of Education for winning the 2016 USBANDS Group 4A State Championship. They placed first out of 18 Group 4A Marching Bands. In addition to winning the overall championship, the band also took home the Best Over-All Effect Award.

    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $1000 for Lenape's Marching Band from Floor & Decor Store, Moorestown.
     
    * The Board of Education approved the donation of props and costumes valued at $254 for Lenape's Music Department from Elizabeth O'Brien.
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $1125 for Shawnee's Scoreboard Console from Shawnee Boys & Girls Basketball Booster Clubs.
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $50 for Cherokee's Math Club from Foundation for Education.
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $700 for Cherokee's School Newspaper from Foundation for Education.
     
    * The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $100 for Cherokee's Concert Choir from Foundation for Education.
  • Miscellaneous
     
    Numerous other requests for approval of student activities and education items were approved by the Board of Education. These approvals are reflected in the formal minutes of the meeting which are available in the office of the Board of Education secretary.
     
    The next Board of Education meeting is Wednesday, January 4th at 7:30 p.m. at the Lenape District Administration Building in Shamong.
