Requirements for Graduation

To qualify for a state-endorsed diploma, a student must have
- completed the selected program of study appropriate to his/her needs and abilities
- earned a minimum of 120 credits, including the required subjects listed on the Course Planning Worksheet (which includes electives that satisfy the Visual Performing Arts, 21st Century Life and Careers or Career-Tech Ed, and Financial, Economic Business and Entrepreneurial Literacy requirements).
- met the state graduation testing requirements (see below)
No course may satisfy more than one of the requirements. Course expectations (District and/or NJ State Student Learning Standards) will be clearly set forth in writing for any course required for graduation and will be available to the student or his or her parents/guardians upon request to the classroom teacher.
The Board of Education will provide opportunities for remediation to students who fail to meet required proficiencies.

Graduation Testing Requirements

New Jersey regulations (N.J.A.C. 6A:8-5.1) require all students to demonstrate proficiency in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. To qualify for a high school diploma, students must meet the NJ High School Graduation Assessment Requirements.
