Dear Parent/Guardian of a current 8th grade student:

We look forward to beginning the process of transition to high school for your  9th grade son or daughter.   As you may be aware, your son or daughter will become the responsibility of the Lenape Regional High School District effective July 1, 2018. To begin this transition, the Lenape Regional High School District staff will be holding parent orientation meetings in January and February 2018 for students and their parents, as follows:
January 17, 2018:   Shawnee High School (following 8th grade parent meeting that begins at 6pm)
January 18, 2018:   Lenape High School (following 8th grade parent meeting that begins at 6pm)
January 23, 2018:   Seneca High School (following 8th grade parent meeting that begins at 6pm)
February 1, 2018:   Cherokee High School North (at 6pm, before the 8th grade parent meeting)

At each meeting, we present an overview of the entire transition process, including program options, case management services and a tour of the facility.  If you are unable to attend the meeting, please schedule an individual meeting with your child's Child Study Team Case Manager in the school where you child will attend.

To see the list of Case Managers, visit the school web page, then the Special Services or Child Study Team Department links.  Case Managers will offer an opportunity to assist in the transition process, as well as answer questions and further describe specific information related to the needs of your child.
If your child attends an out-of-district placement, you will want to meet with one of our Out of District Case Managers. Your individual transition meetings at the out-of-district school will be extremely relevant, and should include the contributions of our Out of District Case Manager.
