  • About LDTV

Lenape District Television is the educational access channel of the Lenape Regional High School District (LRHSD). LDTV is located in Lenape High School in Medford, NJ and first went on the air in February 1992.  It is a complete broadcast-level studio, where high school students learn video production techniques and assist in the production of district programs.

The Lenape District's educational access channel services the four Lenape District high schools (Cherokee, Lenape, Seneca & Shawnee), the Sequoia Alternative Program, the Burlington County Institute of Technology and all of the elementary and middle schools in Evesham, Medford Lakes, Medford Township, Mount Laurel, Shamong, Southampton, Tabernacle and Woodland. LDTV broadcasts 24 hours a day and has potential viewership in communities across Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties in New Jersey.

LDTV can be found locally on Comcast Cable channel 19 and Verizon FiOS channel 21.  LDTV also has a Youtube channel where many of our programs can be viewed by anyone outside the traditional broadcast area.

    Programming
The station aims to produce and air programming that is creative, informative and instructional. LDTV produces several original series that provide the community with information and insight regarding academic, athletic and extra-curricular activities within the LRHSD.

A digital bulletin board supplements programming with information regarding the region's elementary, middle and high school academic, athletic and social functions.  The digital bulletin board also provides emergency information regarding school closings and delayed openings.

Each of the district's high schools operate satellite studios with facilities for production, editing and sending broadcast-ready videos to LDTV.  BCIT and each of the district’s sending elementary and middle schools can also send video to LDTV, where it can be edited and scheduled for broadcast.

    LDTV Production Truck
LDTV also offers LRHSD students the opportunity to broadcast sports, awards ceremonies, graduations and other events with the use of a mobile production truck.  The Lenape Regional Education Foundation, a non-profit organization, donated the production truck to the Lenape District in 2010.  The production truck is a fully functional professional-level production studio that has covered various events around the district and the state.

    LDTV Sports
Since 2006, LDTV Sports has been bringing viewers the very best in high school sports action.  Viewers can watch their favorite teams from Cherokee, Lenape, Seneca and Shawnee high schools compete in football, basketball, field hockey, soccer, lacrosse and more.

LDTV Sports games are student-produced and livestreamed on LDTV's YouTube Channel.  Students can serve as camera, replay or graphics operators, technical director and director at each event.  Select students also provide play-by-play commentary and sideline reports on camera.

    LDTV Option Two
Option Two programs allow students to obtain credit for learning experiences outside of the traditional classroom environment. Through LDTV Option Two, third and fourth year communications technology students can earn credits towards graduation by working with LDTV.  Option Two students are assigned various projects on a weekly basis and also assist in the setup and production of LDTV Sports games.

    LDTV Awards
Since 1996, LDTV has been honoring the best in student productions with its annual LDTV Awards.  District students, their families and guests are treated to an Academy Awards-style show featuring the most outstanding work done by communications technology students during the school year.  Students receive awards in categories such as News Package, On-Air Talent, Public Service Announcement, Demo Reel and more.
