Operation Open LRHSD Update

Carol Birnbohm, Ed.D Presentation
  • Superintendent of Schools Carol Birnbohm, Ed.D presented an update on Operation Open LRHSD, which detailed the plans to allow in-person learners now attending school every other day (Cohort A and B students) the ability to attend school in-person every day starting March 1, 2021, by merging Cohorts A and B, maintaining social distancing in the classrooms, following our Four-Day rotating half day schedule and allowing Cohort C students to stay remote.

  • Seneca High School Principal Brad Bauer introduced seniors Sabrina Capoli and Cassidy Strittmatter who gave a presentation to the Board of Education about academics, athletics, community service and the various school activities at Seneca during the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year.

  • Shawnee High School Principal Matt Campbell introduced seniors Mary Kate Clapperton and Thomas Rebstock who gave a presentation to the Board of Education about academics, athletics, community service and the various school activities at Shawnee during the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year.

Policy

    • The Board of Education approved the second reading of new Board of Education Policy and Regulation 5330.05: Seizure Action Plan.
    • The Board of Education approved the second reading of revised Board of Education Policy 1648: Restart and Recovery Plan.

Donations

    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $500 for Seneca's Girls in Ascent Mentorship Program from Township of Medford.
    • The Board of Education approved the donation of Chemistry Glassware (valued at $100) for Lenape's Chemistry Classes from Monica Hashimoto.
    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $1,000 for Seneca and Shawnee's Robotics Team from Durable Undercarriage Company, Inc.

Miscellaneous

  • Numerous other requests for approval of student activities and education items were approved by the Board of Education. These approvals are reflected in the formal minutes of the meeting which are available in the office of the Board of Education Secretary.
