11-21-20 Notification of Positive COVID-19 Cases at Lenape High School

  • Dear Students, Staff, Parents/Guardians:

This letter is to inform you that today we learned two individuals at Lenape High School have tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The District is coordinating closely with public health officials and following CDC, state, and local health department guidance in order to ensure the health and safety of our community.  Lenape was able to investigate and determine that the two positive cases are epidemiologically linked to each other and to an exposure outside of the school setting.

Per the guidelines from the Burlington County Health Department (BCHD), Lenape may remain open Monday.  As of this date, there is no evidence of a COVID 19 spread from within our building.  Contact tracing is underway. If you are identified as a close contact (within 6 feet for 15 cumulative minutes or more over 24 hours), you will receive additional notifications in the form of a phone call and a letter.  If you do not receive additional notification, no further action is required.

We appreciate our community’s support and cooperation. Any student or staff member who is being tested should notify the school nurse and remain home from school and all extra-curricular activities until a negative test result has been provided to the school nurse. Should you have any questions about this situation, please feel free to contact me directly at 609-654-5111, ext. 339000 or School Nurse Suzanne Senechal at 609-654-51111, ext. 334100.

    Sincerely,

    Tony Cattani
    Principal
