11-4-20 Notification of Additional Positive COVID-19 Case at Shawnee High School
-
Wednesday, November 4, 2020
Dear Shawnee Families,
This letter is to inform you that one more individual from Shawnee High School has tested positive for COVID-19. This is in addition to the positive case that was reported to you yesterday (11/3) and resulted in Shawnee High School switching to fully remote instruction through November 16th. The most recent individual to test positive has been quarantined since last week, and no additional contact tracing will need to take place, nor will this newest case impact our return to hybrid instruction on November 16th. The Burlington County Health Department has been contacted, as they will follow-up with each case. Our newest positive case is not connected to an exposure inside of Shawnee High School.
We continue to encourage families to limit attendance at largely populated functions, especially those that are held indoors and where masks and social distancing protocols cannot be followed. Unfortunately, the community and county are seeing a rise in positive cases. Each day, I am notified of staff and students having to quarantine because of contact to a positive friend or family member. We follow up on each case and continue to be vigilant in our contact tracing.
Please continue to contact the school nurse or any administrator if you receive news about a positive case within your family or close contacts. They can assist you in following the proper protocols and contact tracing.
Thank you for your continued support. By working together, we will get through these challenging times. As you know, the well-being of our students, staff, and families is our number one priority.
Be Safe,
Matthew Campbell
Principal
