10-22-20 Notification of 2nd Positive COVID-19 Case at Cherokee High School

  • Dear Students, Staff, Parents/Guardians:

This letter is to inform you this evening we learned of a second individual at Cherokee High School who has tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Cherokee and the Burlington County Health Department (BCHD) were able to investigate and determine the positive cases were epidemiologically linked (two or more cases within 14 days, that are linked to an exposure outside of the school setting) We would like to thank our school nurses and district and school administration for their expeditious work.   At the recommendation of the BCHD, Cherokee may remain open tomorrow. https://www.lrhsd.org/Page/11915

As of this date, there is no evidence of a COVID 19 spread from within our building.  Cherokee is continuing to assist the BCHD with contact tracing. If you are identified as a close contact (within 6 feet for 10 minutes or more), you will receive an additional notification via an email and phone call within 24 hours.  If you do not receive additional notification, no further action is required.

We appreciate our community’s support and cooperation. Please continue to assist us by remaining vigilant but sensible in your approach to dealing with this health concern. If your child does not feel well or has even minor symptoms, please keep your child at home and utilize our remote instruction. Should you have any questions about this situation, please contact me directly at 856-983-5140 ext. 229000 or School Nurse Deidre Golden at 856-983-5140 ext. 221800.

    Sincerely,

    Donna Charlesworth
