  • The Lenape District's annual reorganization meeting was held on Wednesday, January 8th. Board member Barry J. Fitzgerald of Evesham Township was appointed Board of Education President and Steve H. Lee of Medford Lakes Borough was appointed Board of Education Vice President.

    Business Administrator and Board Secretary Constance L. Stewart had the privilege of swearing in board members Margaret M. Estlow from Woodland Township, Dr. Robert H. Bende, Jr. from Tabernacle Township, and Allison Eckel from Medford Township for new three-year terms and Marc Jones from Mount Laurel Township for a two-year unexpired term.

    • The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $3,320 for Seneca's Food Pantry from Medford-Vincentown Rotary Club.

Policy

    • The Board of Education approved the second reading of new Board of Education Policy 2417: Student Intervention and Referral Services.
    • The Board of Education approved the second reading of revised Board of Education Policy 5420: Grading Procedures.
    • The Board of Education approved the second reading of revised Board of Education Policy 5430: Class Rank.
    • The Board of Education approved the second reading of new Board of Education Policy and Regulation 5612: Assaults on District Board of Education Members or Employees.
    • The Board of Education approved the second reading of new Board of Education Policy and Regulation 5613: Removal of Students for Assaults with Weapons Offenses.
    • The Board of Education approved the second reading of revised Board of Education Policy 8630: Bus Driver/Bus Aide Responsibility.
  • Numerous other requests for approval of student activities and education items were approved by the Board of Education. These approvals are reflected in the formal minutes of the meeting which are available in the office of the Board of Education Secretary.
     
    The next Board of Education meeting is Wednesday, January 22nd at 7:30 p.m. at the Lenape District Administration Building in Shamong.
