Ms. Denn's BC Calculus class went on a Math Trail through Philadelphia as their year end assessment. Students solved Calculus problems at different locations in the city, visiting City Hall, Rittenhouse Square, the Academy of Fine Arts, Dilworth and Love Park, among others.
After answering the Calculus problems and find their location, they also answered questions about the landmark. For example, in the Ritz Carlton Hotel near City Hall, students are asked what historical place this building was modeled after (Spoiler: the Pantheon!).
After having lunch at the Reading Terminal Market the assessment ended with tour of Sts. Peter and Paul Basillica.
This last trip was the 14th time students have completed the Math Trail and it has become a rite of passage for the BC Calculus kids (and the chaperones!)
