Cherokee Cross Country Runner wins Group 4 State Championship

  • Cherokee Cross Country Head Coach Steve Shaklee was on hand to introduce Junior Ethan Wechsler who won the Group 4 Cross Country State Championship. Ethan also placed fourth in the NJSIAA Meet of Champions while recording the fastest time by a South Jersey runner in three years.

  • The LRHSD Board of Education recognized the retirement of long-serving member Mr. Ted Shinske from the Board. Mr. Shinske was elected as the Shamong Township representative to the LRHSD Board in April 1997.  Superintendent of Schools Dr. Carol Birnbohm and Southampton Representative Linda Eckenhoff presented Mr. Shinske with a plaque honoring his 21 years of service to the LRHSD Board of Education and to his commitment to meeting the needs of all Lenape District students.

    The next Board of Education meeting is Wednesday, January 2nd at 7:30 p.m. at the Lenape District Administration Building in Shamong.
