Shawnee FCCLA students participated, competed, and earned medals at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in San Diego California July 2 to July 8th.
300 plus Certified Athletic Trainers met with our Congressional Representatives and Senators in Washington DC with the mission to support a few Bills concerning athletic safety. We made a huge impact on all 50 states that day!
Congrats to Shawnee graduate (2016) and softball player Madison LaPlante for being awarded a check for the essay she wrote that was sponsored by KSA Events. The softball team traveled to Florida during Spring Break to compete and Madison entered the essay contest during that trip. Good luck to Madison as she continues her education at the University of the Sciences.
Congratulations to the top fitness scorers for the 2015-2016 school year. The fitness testing was part of Shawnee Physical Education classes. Each grade was awarded a male and female recipient who had the highest overall score from the pull-up, sit-up, 800m run and shuttle run tests.
Justin Boswick was awarded a $1,500 Geraldine R. Dodge Scholarship and Recognition of Extraordinary Artistic Ability at the New Jersey State Teen Arts Festival for his documentary, The Word Search, which explores a family coping with Alzheimer's disease.
