LENAPE REGIONAL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION
NAMES JEFFREY SPECTOR NEW PRINCIPAL OF SENECA HIGH SCHOOL
Jeff Spector

Shamong, NJ – At its first regular meeting following the April 15 school budget and board elections, the Lenape Regional High School District (LRHSD) Board of Education named Jeffrey M. Spector as principal of Seneca High School in Tabernacle. Jeff Spector, an assistant principal and athletic director at the school, will replace current principal, John Furgione.
According to LRHSD Superintendent Emily Capella, Jeff Spector brings an ideal combination of experience as an educator and demonstrated effective school management skills to the position, which will help ensure that Seneca continues to be a safe and secure learning environment.
“Jeff developed a very clear vision of teaching and learning as a teacher and coach,” said Capella. “As his career advanced, and he has assumed more responsibilities as an administrator, Jeff has drawn on his teaching experiences to relate to what is going on in the classroom and with extracurricular activities. Jeff has always been and continues to be an advocate for students and staff, while forging and maintaining open communication with parents and the community.”
Jeff Spector, who has been an assistant principal at Seneca High School since its opening in September 2003, credits John Furgione with establishing guiding principles and a solid foundation for the school.
“Our staff is committed to building on the momentum of Seneca’s first five years to advance its educational programs even further,” said Spector. “I cannot fully express the excitement of being at the school since the day we opened. I’m thrilled to be Seneca’s principal and serve the Pinelands communities of Shamong, Southampton, Tabernacle and Woodland.”
Jeffrey Spector earned a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from Rowan University and a master’s in educational administration from Rutgers University. He began his career as a health and physical education teacher in Haddon Township School District. He also taught and coached at Camden County Vocational Schools and Oakcrest High School.
After receiving his master’s, Jeff Spector joined Washington Township School District as an assistant principal. He was then named athletic director of Cumberland Regional High School, where he served until joining Seneca High School in 2003.
As assistant principal, Jeffrey Spector has been responsible for all athletics and activities, school security and graduation ceremonies. He supervises the health/physical education program, nurses and in-school suspension and is the internal coordinator for the Middle States Association accreditation process.
Jeff Spector resides with his family in Shamong.
