AFFIRMATIVE ACTION

In affirmation of its responsibility to ensure all its students equal educational opportunity regardless of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, and social or economic status, the Board of Education has a longstanding policy regarding Affirmative Action.

The policy provides for equality in school programs, classroom practices, and extra curricular activities. Equal access and benefits are granted to all students. No differentiation of opportunity to participate in courses or activities or requirements for completion of course offerings is made solely on the basis of his or her race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, affectional or sexual orientation, gender, religion, disability or socioeconomic status. Part of the policy also guarantees students will be free from discrimination on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth, pregnancy disabilities, actual or potential parenthood, or family or marital status. Copies of the full policy are available in the school’s main office or on the district website.
